President Jacob Zuma has urged South African businesses to take advantage of the opportunities that will be created by the massive new infrastructure build programme announced in the 2012 State of the Nation address.

South Africa will spend billions of rands on new infrastructure in the coming years, focusing on rail and road projects, economic links in five regions in the country, new universities and refurbished hospitals, President Jacob Zuma said in his 2012 State of the Nation address.
SA, Swaziland in major rail investment
South African logistics group Transnet and Swaziland Railways are to jointly develop a 146km railway line from Mpumalanga, as well as upgrade adjacent railway networks in both countries, in what will be the biggest railway investment in southern Africa in over three decades.
Umgeni Water gets €35m European loan
The European Investment Bank is to provide €35-million (R385-million) in funding to South African water board Umgeni Water, enabling it to continue providing clean water to about five-million people in Durban and surrounding areas.
