SA vehicle sales, exports on the up

Following a few very tough years, the South African wine industry is optimistic on the back of record export levels, good prospects for this year's harvest, the penetration of new markets, and growing praise from high-profile wine critics, says Wines of South Africa CEO Su Birch.

South Africa exported 277 844 vehicles in 2012, its second-best figure on record, while growing domestic vehicle sales by 9.2% to 623 914 units. The country now exports to 148 international markets, and has a firmly established track record as a car manufacturer.

Thirty-three South African arts and crafts entrepreneurs, backed by the Department of Trade and Industry, will showcase their products at the 32nd India International Trade Fair in New Delhi from 14 to 27 November.
