Kaizer Motaung joins Primedia board

Media and entertainment group Primedia announced on Friday the appointment of Kaizer Motaung, the chair and MD of Kaizer Chiefs Football Club, to the company’s board as a non-executive director.
The country’s leading football club with over 14 million supporters is 40 percent owned by Primedia and housed within the sport division of Primedia Advertising.
William Kirsh CEO of Primedia commented, “Through our investment in Kaizer Chiefs, we have the unique position in not only being able to benefit from the anticipated increased commercialisation of soccer in the run up to the Soccer World Cup 2010 but importantly from the many opportunities that we foresee in exploiting this most revered sports and lifestyles brand, and this move is very timely.”
Kaizer Motaung was honoured by the appointment and believed that his new role would enable him to unlock the “huge potential” of the partnership between the football club and one of the leading media companies in the
country.
