FUEL
Another fuel hike expected
Posted Wed, 20 Jul 2005

South Africans can expect yet another heavy petrol price increase early next month — this time about 25 cents a litre, according to Kagiso Securities economist Elize Kruger.

She expressed hope that if oil prices stabilised after the expected August 3 petrol price hike, and the rand did not devalue, there could be a small reduction later.

"If it stabilises from here on, the chances are good for a decline in the next month," she said.
