Pepsi set to return to SA
Posted Thu, 21 Jul 2005

Pepsi Cola is set to make yet another return to South Africa, after entering into a franchise deal with local food and beverage group Pioneer Foods.

PepsiCo re-entered the local market after the fall of apartheid, but its local partner, New Age Beverages, went into liquidation, owing PepsiCo $100-million, according to Business Day.

Under the new agreement, Pioneer subsidiary Ceres Fruit Juices will bottle and distribute PepsiCo products, including Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, 7-Up and Mirinda at its Gauteng plant.
