SAA won't get equity partner yet
Posted Tue, 27 Jun 2006
South African Airways has no strategic equity partner as yet, according to Public Enterprises Minister Alec Erwin on Monday.
According to Erwin, because of the competitive nature of the airline industry, his department is "continually attempting to improve its risk management" in regard to SAA to meet these challenges.
He added that SAA is making "good strides in improving their risk management and performance".
"A major strategy review has been undertaken and announcements in this regard will be made as it is appropriate," he said.
Erwin was replying to a question posed by Democratic Alliance finance spokesperson, Ian Davidson, who queried whether the airline would get an equity partner, particularly in the light of its current operational problems.
