Rand sits tight

The rand held firm in the midday session on Friday as it tracked the dollar and a strong gold price.
Markets were waiting for non-farm payrolls data, due out in the US later on Friday.
At 11.40am the rand was bid at 7.5569 to the dollar from 7.5778 at its previous close.
It was bid at 11.2590 to the euro from 11.2683 before.
Against sterling, it was bid at 12.5585 from a previous close of 12.5575.
At 12.16am gold was quoted at $1 094.20 an ounce.
