Rand at lower levels

The rand shrugged off a softer euro in midday play on Thursday, trading at the low end of its range of 7.27-37 against the dollar.
At 11.35am the rand was bid at 7.2851 to the dollar from 7.3035 at its previous close.
It was bid at 9.9913 to the euro from its previous close of 10.0266.It was bid at 11.1717 against the sterling from 11.1700 before.
At 11.58am gold was quoted at $1 123.07 an ounce.
