JSE outplays European stocks

The JSE ended decidedly firmer on Monday, outperforming the main European benchmark stock market indices, amid strong buying interest in all sectors save for gold index.
At 17:00 local time, the JSE all-share index was up 0.43 percent to 34,399.04 points, with resources gaining 0.53 percent and platinum shares climbing 0.88 percent, while gold counters lost 2.04 percent.
Financials lifted 0.79 percent, banking stocks were up 1.23 percent and industrials edged up 0.23 percent.
