The start of the filing period of the 2009 tax season for individual taxpayers and trusts has begun, and taxpayers can now submit their income tax returns to Sars electronically, or request a customised, pre-populated tax return for manual submission.

Crackdown on unlicensed vehicles

The Gauteng government is set to recall 427 000 unlicensed vehicles in the province, and has urged the vehicle owners to contact the authorities on special call lines for assistance.
