Legal Aid Board expands its reach

The Legal Aid Board of South Africa launched a new justice centre and nine additional satellite offices in 2008, improving access to free legal services in townships and rural areas across the country.

Justice Bill makes allowance for minors

South Africa's National Assembly has passed the long-awaited Child Justice Bill, which deals with minors - children under the age of 18 years - who are in conflict with the law. The Bill has been sent to President Kgalema Motlanthe for approval.
