SA small claims courts on the increase

This year's Freedom Day will not only mark 19 years of democracy, it will also see the new Protection from Harassment Act come into effect, enabling South Africans to approach the courts for protection from sexual harassment - including harassment via SMS or e-mail.

South Africa's Rural Development and Land Reform Department says a platform for the Khoi and San to lodge their land claims is part of various initiatives to reverse the effects of the 1913 Natives' Land Act, which regulated the acquisition of land by people classified as "native" by the apartheid regime.
