Disney's South Africa adventure
13 October 2008
Adventures by Disney has chosen South Africa as one of eight new destinations for its list of family-friendly adventures in locations around the world in 2009.
Launched in 2005, Adventures by Disney offers "immersive, hassle-free and exhilarating guided family vacation experiences" to destinations in Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia and Australia.
Adventures by Disney's 12-day, 11-night South Africa trip starts in stunning, historic Cape Town before visiting the Western Cape Garden Route towns of George and Knysna and venturing into safari country at Kapama Game Reserve next to the world-famous Kruger National Park.
"The magnificence of nature surrounds you at every turn as you head down the stunning Garden Route," Adventures by Disney says on its website. "Answer the call of the wild on safari as you cross paths with big cats and other Big Five game - such as elephant, buffalo and rhinoceros!"
Adventures by Disney vacations include "VIP experiences, exclusive moments and unique itineraries specifically designed for families." Families are accompanied from start to finish by two "Disney-trained adventure guides who are experts on their destination."
Along the way, local experts and historians provide an "insider's" perspective, while kids "become Junior Adventurers and enjoy activities and surprises just for them."
Also on offer in 2009 will be an even more luxurious version of the standard itinerary on two Adventures by Disney tours - one being the South Africa trip. Known as Disney Signature Trips, these will offer "an enhanced travel experience including upgraded accommodations, special amenities and events not offered on standard departures."
