Cape Town has won the bid to host the International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation & Lighthouse Authorities (IALA) conference in 2010. The conference is expected to attract some 400 delegates from over 40 countries, injecting around R3.4-million into the city's economy and placing southern Africa on the agenda of international maritime organisations. |
