Matrics: get results via SMS
Mahlatsi Mgidi

21 December 2004

Class of 2004 matriculants can receive their grade 12 results - to be announced on 29 December - via SMS through the National Youth Commission, at a cost of R2.

To receive their results through the commission, matriculants should pre-register by sending their examination and ID numbers to 34555, or calling the toll-free number 0800 000 001, to provide the commission with a cellphone number where their results can be sent as soon as they are available.

Young people who register will be kept on the National Youth Commission database and provided with updates on services, developments and opportunities within the country's broader youth development programme, commission chairperson Jabu Mbalula said.

Youthline is part of the commission's Youth Information Service, providing up-to-date information for young people and enabling them to interact with counsellors and get information on career options, bursaries and other skills development programmes.
