President Thabo Mbeki and Mozambican President Armando Guebuza will co-chair a heads of state economic bilateral meeting at the presidential guesthouse in Pretoria on Friday.
A visa-waiver agreement between the two countries, as well as a memorandum of understanding on co-operation in trade and industry, are to be signed at the end of discussions on Saturday.
This is Guebuza's first official visit to South Africa.
According to the Department of Foreign Affairs, Portuguese-speaking Mozambique is South Africa's second-largest export market in Africa.
And South Africa is currently Mozambique's largest investor, with foreign direct investment amounting to R8-billion, spread over 247 projects in industries ranging from mining to agriculture, tourism, chemicals, forestry, transport and energy.
