It's all systems go for the annual Mapungubwe Arts Festival taking place in Limpopo province from 15-19 December.
Addressing the media on Tuesday, Sports, Arts and Culture MEC Joe Maswanganyi said the festival would provide an opportunity for people to exhibit the beauty of the province in visual and performing arts.
The festival, previously called the Melting Pot, has been revamped to reflect the cultures and traditions of the province, and to broaden the concept to accommodate all genres of the arts.
Events lined up for the festival including theatre, kwaito and jazz, fashion shows, film and video, and cultural displays showcasing an assortment of traditional foods and performances.
On 16 December, patrons will mark Reconciliation Day at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in the Unity in Diversity Festival, featuring traditional and gospel music.
Premier Sello Moloto is expected to attend one of the events, with popular kwaito
musicians such as Pitch Black Afro, Kabelo, Mzekezeke and Zola on hand to entertain the crowds.
