SA team to Nordic-African meet

Foreign Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma leads a South African delegation to the fourth session of the Nordic-African Information Consultations in Helsinki, Finland this week.
The two-day meeting will kick off on Thursday and is expected to bring together representatives from various countries, including Benin, Botswana, Ghana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Mali, Senegal, Nigeria, Tanzania, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Iceland, and Denmark.
According to the Department of Foreign Affairs, issues to be discussed include Africa's peace and security architecture and the strengthening of human rights, democracy and governance to promote development and prevent conflicts on the continent.
The implementation of the New Partnership for Africa's Development (Nepad) and the operationalisation of the African Peer Review Mechanism will also be discussed.
Also on the agenda will be the reform of global bodies such as the United Nations and the International
Monetary Fund.
