April sees the rugby season into full swing as South Africa's top players vie for the attention of Springbok coach Jake White in the Super 12, while the Vodacom Cup and Shield also feature busy programmes. Durban hosts the under-19 World Cup, with South Africa defending the title they won in 2003 with a 22-18 victory over New Zealand in the final.

The PSL title race continues in a closely fought season, while there is top class women's golf at the Johannesburg Country Club, where the Nedbank SA Masters takes place and the Supersport Series reaches its conclusion.
