South African swimmer Natalie du Toit has been awarded the first David Dixon award for outstanding athlete of the Commonwealth Games. Besides setting two world records for elite athletes with disability, Du Toit became the first disabled swimmer in the history of the Games to compete against able-bodied athletes in an open race. |
