Gauteng, North West and the Free State. The round feature at top left is an ancient volcanic crater, now the Pilansberg National Park. The Magaliesberg mountains curve across the image below it. The green patches are urban areas - Johannesburg is said to be the world's largest man-made forest. The bright rectangular patches are associated with mining. At bottom left is the Vaal Dam, and towards bottom right is part of the Vredefort Dome, the site of a massive meteor impact 2-billion years ago.
