The Youth African Soccer Cup, devised to help South African children discover other African countries and their cultures, took place in Johannesburg on the weekend – with special guest and project ambassador Didier Drogba on hand to lend support.

For some 4 000 South Africans, the Confederations Cup is not about sitting back and enjoying the feast of football on offer – it's about working to ensure that the tournament is a success. And it's an opportunity that none of them are taking for granted.

Growing up in rural South Africa, where electricity at the time was a rarity, 32-year-old Aubrey Ramokoto can hardly believe that he is now working as a cabling technician for a global tournament such as the Fifa Confederations Cup.
