London: SA man still missing
13 July 2005
Only one South African remains unaccounted for a week after the bomb blasts that rocked London.
William Masieko is the only person from the list of 15 that was released over the weekend who has not made contact with relatives in South Africa.
On Sunday, the Dutch Reformed Church in London published the list of 15 - while emphasising that the missing were not necessarily caught up in the attack at all.
Three South Africans were injured in the blasts, according to SA Deputy High Commissioner Cyril Ndaba.
One of the injured, a KwaZulu-Natal man in his forties, is reportedly in a serious condition in St Mary's Hospital. The department of Foreign Affairs has not yet released his name.
Dutch Reformed Church Dominee Dawie van Vuuren said the initial list was a result of over 70 calls to the church from South Africans in London who were worried about their loved ones.
Jacobus Nel Visagie, Triston McNean, Henk Goosen, Christene
Govinder, Tania and Mark Anderson, Petro Charsley, Hayley Fielding, Andre Appolos, Colin Khumalo, Marina Chikh, Ronel De Beer, Stephen Fouche and Jhanet Thyssen have since Sunday made contact with their South African relatives.
