Sandton was abuzz with activity on Tuesday as thousands of Johannesburg residents descended on the plush northern suburb to blow their vuvuzelas and show off their Diski Dance skills to mark 100 days to the 2010 Fifa World Cup kick-off. Johannesburg residents gathered in the city to show their support and patriotism.

The event proved to be a huge success as families, friends and colleagues converged on Maude Street, dressed in their best soccer regalia – complete with makarabas, Bafana Bafana jerseys, South African flags and flag apparel.

The SA 2010 fans were entertained by renowned artists such as Khanyo and Camagwini, with popular Metro FM DJ Lupi Ngcayisa playing MC.

T-shirts emblazoned with "You Make Joburg Great" were seen on both young and old.

100 days celebrations also took place in other cities across South Africa, including Pretoria.
