Top South African hotels ranked among best
15 July 2015
The popular Expedia.com travel site has included two South African hotels in its
annual Insiders' Select list of the best reviewed hospitality properties around the world.
Johannesburg's InterContinental at OR Tambo International Airport and the Taj Hotel
Cape Town both received a score of 4.7 out of 5, based on over two million verified
guest reviews.
A total of 650 hotels and resorts from across the globe have been chosen for
the list this year, and the South African hotels are in good company. Amongst the top 10
ranked establishments are the exclusive Royal Palms Bermuda, the Hotel Panorama
in Olbia, Italy and the deluxe B+B Edinburgh in Scotland.
The five-star InterContinental is popular with international tourists and business
travellers alike, as a stopover to the rest of Africa. It delivers accessibility, elegance and
all the upmarket amenities expected from a high-quality hotel. The Taj – also a five-star
graded
establishment – is located in the heart of historic Cape Town, and is part of the
prestigious Taj Hotel Group. According to Expedia, both hotels have fulfilled the highest
standard of excellence to become part of the Insiders’ List, which includes “consistently
delivering value with competitive pricing, pristine amenities and superior customer
service.”
Expedia is one of the world's leading full-service online travel websites, with
partnerships with some of the most trusted travel brands.
