With excitement starting to build up ahead of the 2010 Fifa World Cup™, and thousands of North American soccer fans getting serious about their travel plans, US-based Africa Adventure Consultants have announced two new World Cup travel packages to South Africa.

"We're really working hard with our partners on the ground in South Africa to get our clients the best experience for the best value in June and July 2010," Kent Redding, the company's president, said in a statement this week.

"Of course no trip to Africa is complete without a big game safari experience and we're excited to launch these fantastic programmes created especially for these soccer fans."

World Cup Guided Safari

On Africa Adventure Consultant's World Cup Guided Safari, travellers will visit a game reserve in KwaZulu-Natal province plus two private reserves near Kruger National Park.

"Understanding that most North American travellers have limited vacation time, and to optimise time on the ground, travellers will have private road transfers and easy internal flights between camps.

"Priced at US$5 499 for a 10-day safari, this programme provides an outstanding opportunity to experience both the wildlife and culture of South Africa, along with soccer of course."

World Cup Self-Drive Safari

For more adventurous travellers, Africa Adventure Consultants has launched the World Cup Self-Drive Safari.

Designed for those interested in both wildlife and culture, this tour features self-drive rental cars plus guided safari experiences.

Priced at $2 999 per person, travellers can enjoy three unique regions of southern Africa, including Zululand, Swaziland and the Manyaletti Game Reserve near the Kruger National Park – before or after World Cup matches.

'Destinations we know personally'

Denver, Colorado-based Africa Adventure Consultants organises safari adventures throughout east and southern Africa, with destinations including Botswana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.

The company "sells destinations they know personally, offering guests the assurance of strong on-the-ground partnerships with only the best local companies."

The company also supports a variety of African conservation organisations, community-based tourism programmes and humanitarian causes.

It supports "carbon-neutral" safaris by offsetting 50% of each African trip it sells, as well as offering clients the opportunity to offset the remaining 50%.
