South Africa closes Home Affairs department

South Africans will not be able to submit their applications for identity documents and passports for a week from 27 November because the Department of Home Affairs will be undertaking systems upgrades. It is expected that the upgrades will improve its services.

South African youth can apply for free tech training

WeThinkCode urges businesspeople to help sponsor a student to attend a free two-year course in computer programming. It will open its first campus, in Johannesburg, in January 2016, with the aim to eliminate the information technology skills gap that exists.


Thusong Service Week: taking public services to South Africans

The South African government launched its annual Thusong Service Week on 13 September. The initiative is aimed at bringing information about government services and opportunities directly to the people.
