Competition Commission
An independent, statutory body created by the Competition Act in 1998. The commission is empowered to investigate, evaluate and control restrictive business practices, abuse of dominant positions by companies, and company mergers in the interests of fairness and efficiency in the South African economy.- Website: www.compcom.co.za

The Competition Tribunal
The Competition Tribunal was established in 1998 by the Competition Act and is the adjudicative body. The Competition Commission refers large mergers and prohibited practices to the tribunal for prosecution.- Website: www.comptrib.co.za
